Backstories of the Palm Springs Windmills - Just Released!

Palm Springs is internationally known for its architecture, cultural arts, and resort living. Still, the giant wind turbines standing along the north end of the city gather the most attention. Initially established in 1982, the Palm Springs wind farms have become the most iconic feature of the area, greeting motorists and air travelers worldwide as they arrive in the Coachella Valley.

This book tells some of the backstories of the Palm Springs windmills, from the California Wind Rush of the 1980s through the present. It also explains the evolution of the wind industry by exploring the wind turbine designs and discusses the essential aspects to help us understand their function as we appreciate their beauty.

This is a must do for anybody who is curious, likes to learn, kids who need to run around, engineer types who get bored with the usual, mixed groups, families, on a tight budget. $49 for a car of up to 5 people. Five Stars

Wonderfully organized, very informative, and I really like the separation, control and timing self-driving provides me. Five Stars.

Take your time in the visitor center and talk to the people there. They are extremely knowledgeable and fun to talk to. Answered a ton of questions and I left feeling somewhat hopeful that maybe we really will make the transfer to renewable energy. Too late, but better late than never. We downloaded the app for the audio self-driving tour so we were able to go at our own pace. Unexpected gem. Don't miss it.
